MKSK, Ohio headquartered, Planning, Urban Design and Landscape Architecture firm with twelve offices throughout the eastern United States, announces founding Principal, Tim Schmalenberger, FASLA, will be stepping down as Chief Operating Officer, and the appointment of Principal, Matt Manda, ASLA, PLA, as its new COO.

Founding Principal, Tim Schmalenberger stated “After my long tenure as COO, since the firm’s foundation, I am thrilled to pass on this role to my colleague Matt Manda, allowing me to concentrate on project design. Matt is a highly developed leader and practitioner. The combination of his experience, knowledge of the MKSK’s culture, and drive for project excellence makes him the ideal fit to lead MKSK’s next generation”.

Matt has years of experience as a practicing Landscape Architect; he has worked on projects from small scale neighborhood parks to large scale city master planning studies. His ability to work at all scales allowed him to lead complex projects developing comprehensive landscape strategies that addressed both clients’ goals and the need to create holistic, equitable and sustainable experiences. In his role as MKSK’s COO he will be dedicated to meeting clients’ expectations for outstanding project delivery while providing management, leadership and vision that strengthens MKSK’s company culture firmwide.
